Melissa Bowyer
I’ve worked as an Instructional Designer and learning specialist for more than 20 years, with a strong focus on designing and developing technical software training. Much of my experience comes from working with software companies where I created product training that helps customers successfully implement the software and get the most value from the platform. I’ve also supported non-tech organizations by developing technical training for mission-critical business applications like Salesforce.
I’ve implemented Learning Management Systems and launched full academy sites at two organizations. I’ve also deployed digital adoption tools like Pendo and WalkMe, using their in-app guidance capabilities to deliver timely, “in-the-moment” enablement for software users. Over the years, I’ve created a wide range of learning assets—instructional videos, user guides, and eLearning modules—and I’m a strong believer in building solid foundational product knowledge. I have designed a multi-layered customer onboarding program to support successful product adoption.
My toolkit includes extensive experience with Camtasia for video development and Storyline 360 for eLearning projects, along with proof-of-concept work in Rise. I’m highly proficient with MS Word and PowerPoint for content creation. As AI tools continue to advance, I’ve explored their potential through POCs involving AI-generated video and AI-based content translation. I also use Copilot and ChatGPT to accelerate the production and repurposing of written content across multiple formats.
