Jimny Journey: Disconnect to Reconnect is a documentary-style automotive travel film created to explore Indonesia beyond the usual tourist perspective. As Film Director, I developed the creative concept, storytelling approach, visual language, and direction for the project. The journey took us through remote and culturally rich destinations across Sumbawa, Mount Tambora, Flores, Labuan Bajo and Sumba, using the Suzuki Jimny as a vehicle to discover the people, landscapes and stories along the way. Rather than making a conventional automotive commercial, I approached the project as a cinematic documentary, combining observational storytelling, natural landscapes, human moments and an authentic sense of adventure. The project was developed as a Director’s Cut / branded content concept, demonstrating how an automotive brand can become part of a larger story about travel, exploration and reconnecting with Indonesia.
