ILYA MISHCHENKOV

Composer, orchestrator, arranger and conductor with a background in classical music and professional arranging experience since 2013. My work spans original orchestral and chamber compositions, concert arrangements, video game music projects, tango, theatre and contemporary crossover repertoire.

I combine formal instrumental training with practical experience preparing music for professional performers and ensembles. My credits include orchestral arrangements for concert tours featuring American composers Paul Anthony Romero and Bill Brown, an orchestration of Sergei Prokofiev recorded by the Baltic Chamber Orchestra and released by Rubicon Classics, and chamber arrangements of music from Heroes of Might and Magic III.

My interests include orchestral and chamber writing, adapting music to specific ensembles, and developing concert repertoire that connects classical performance with contemporary audiences.

Prepared orchestral arrangements for major concert programmes featuring American composers Paul Anthony Romero and Bill Brown during concert tours in Russia.

This work involved adapting repertoire for orchestral performance within professionally produced concert projects.

Sergei Prokofiev — Five Melodies

Orchestration recorded by the Baltic Chamber Orchestra

My orchestration of Prokofiev’s Five Melodies was recorded by the Baltic Chamber Orchestra and released on the British label Rubicon Classics.

This project represents a significant connection between my orchestration work and the international classical recording market.

2025 | Mezzo Music Chamber Orchestra

Created chamber arrangements of music by Paul Romero from Heroes of Might and Magic III and conducted the Mezzo Music Chamber Orchestra in the live project.

The resulting release presents video game music in a chamber-orchestral concert format, combining detailed arrangement work with practical performance experience.
