Hi there! My name is Brendan Orellana, and I recently graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with a Bachelor’s in Film Production (BA). I’ve been passionate about filmmaking since middle school, starting my journey with an after-school production club and evolving through various creative projects and competitions. My senior Capstone film, Memory Full, was a highlight of my college career and even featured at the Sacramento J Street Film Festival. Beyond academics, I’ve gained hands-on experience through internships, campaign work, and leadership roles that have helped me grow both creatively and professionally. I’m proud of my ability to blend storytelling with technical skills, and I’m excited about future opportunities where I can continue to develop as a filmmaker and content creator.

Qualifications

Wellness Through the Arts 2016 Winner / Board Member
April 30, 2016 - April 30, 2018
A local competition that was helmed by Broadway actor, Ben Vereen. The competition was intended for Anti-bullying, anti-drugs, harassment, and more through spoken word poetry and videos. I made a Lego Stop-Motion video intended on capturing bullying and the effects on mental health, rash decisionmaking and more. While only 2 winners were intended, an anonymous donor made a 3rd finalist possible and I was chosen as an official winner with my piece. From then on, for 2 years, I was a Student Representative on the official WTA board, intent on having the next event go on annually. Unfortunately, the board had to disband after Ben Vereen was going through certain public allegations.
