Murissa Barrington is a songwriter, social media coordinator and former music publicist with a background in music and fashion journalism. Currently, Murissa is pursuing a career in the music business as an A&R or Marketing as well as songwriting. Over the past few years, Murissa has worked as a publicist/assistant manager for 2 up-and-coming musicians, helping to boost their music streams past the 1 million mark via social media consulting and securing press on sites like Billboard.com, R&B Radar, Refinery 29 and Exclaim. Murissa’s digital media experience dates back to 2010 when she started a local music blog called Pretty Hype TO that gained over 10,000 impressions within the first year. Since then she’s held positions as a journalist at Canoe, Diply, Urbanology and TVA Publications.
