My name is Nahla Ashraf, graduated from Mass Communications, Cairo University, Journalism Department, 2016.
After that I started in the field of podcasting in 2019.
In 2019, I participated in a training workshop called “Making Feminist Podcasts” with the “And It Has Other Faces” website, and I produced a pilot episode about the suffering of women who demand for a divorce in Egypt. Then I participated with Wans Company in a training workshop. Wans is an application specialized in producing podcasts and audio books, and I produced an episode with them in “day in my life” podcast.
In 2020, I attended an online course at the University of Wollongong in Australia, it was about The Power Of Podcasting For Storytelling.
In 2021, I joined the “Our Voices” program, affiliated with the Yasmin Kollektiv e.V organization, which is a comprehensive program for studying podcast, and I produced two episodes with them:
The first episode: “The Image of Women in Arab Drama”
The second episode: “We Raise Our Daughters”, which talks about female genital mutilation in Egypt.
Also participated with CARE Foundation in a training workshop, and produced an episode about refugees in “friendly space” podcast.
In 2022, I launched my podcast, “Fears,” which talks about the fears we face in our lives. 12 episodes were produced, and work on it is still ongoing.
In 2023, I worked with Yasmin Kollektiv e.V as a podcast mentor, I supervised the production of two episodes:
The first episode: “What will people say?”
The second episode: “Climate change and Cinema”
then I finished working on an educational series called “About Podcasting” in which I target the people who start their own journey in podcasting (Beginners), I published it on my pages on Instagram and Facebook.
In 2024, I joined to Yasmin Kollektiv e.V to become a podcast trainer.
Also, in 2024 I worked with Pod Lab Egypt as a Podcast Coordinator, and we worked on converting the script of a podcast called “Our Stories” into Mini Articles, this podcast consists of four seasons, each season with different stories.
and I joined to ADEF organization as a podcast trainer, it was a camp for youth, their ages were from 12 to 17, and I was the podcast trainer there.
After that I started new position with pod lab Egypt as podcast co producer I was maintaining and evaluating the produced podcast episodes according to four production factors: (Idea - Script - the podcaster’s performance - Sound Effects).
