This editorial project, in the form of an illustrated popular planner, arises
from the need to create a physical, practical, and accessible record for the public
that honors and preserves Valencian culture through the representation
and celebration of nature, traditions, and language. Additionally, it aims to
serve as a functional object for daily use.
Through an exploration of the history and literature of the Diània territory
(Central Valencian Regions), a planner will be created to reflect the identity
and traditions of this community. As a planner, it will serve as a metaphor for
temporality and ephemerality—concepts inherently tied to such objects—
becoming a tangible medium for preserving personal memories and experiences.
It will also be a daily tool to document the passage of time and the
stories that define us. Furthermore, it seeks to safeguard both individual and
collective memory, using Valencian as a hallmark of identity.
Through research on cultural references, local botany, and the history of
the Valencian Country and the Diània region, and employing design, illustration,
and layout as production tools, this project aims to develop a prototype
of this illustrated planner. This prototype is conceived as a strategic resource
to promote its future professional production at a municipal level through
promotion or funding initiatives, enabling the creation of an annual illustrated
planner that is practical for citizens while also paying homage to this land.
