Industry Experience

Media & Entertainment, Education, Professional Services
    paper The Continental Céilí

    Director: Enda Murray
    Genre: Documentary, Short

Far from their usual stomping ground at Sydney’s Gaelic Club, this mongrel band of troubadours puts a new spin on Irish traditional music. Hailing from Portugal, Sweden, the wild western suburbs of Sydney and even a token Irish man, the All-Stars bring their mutant take on Irish trad to the Gasoline Pony for the first time. Forced to navigate the Australian cultural landscape, with its many prejudices and exclusions, these musicians have found community in their passion for Irish music.

paper Taking Roots (Music) to Australia

Director: Enda Murray & Natalie O’Neill
    Genre: Documentary, Short

In May 2023 a group of Ghanaian drummers teamed up with an Irish céilí band to share tunes and experiences about moving to Australia. The project culminated in a joyous night of rhythm and melody at the Gaelic Club in Sydney’s Surry Hills. This energetic and fun documentary goes beneath the surface to explore the stories of migration from two communities who find pleasure and solace in their exuberant musical artistry. The doco shows that the experiences of migration to Australia are similar whether one comes from Accra or Ballybunion!

    paper Peaches Queen of Éireann

Director: Enda Murray & Scarlett Potter
    Genre: Documentary, Short

For many years Luke McCaul has been living the glamourous (and often outrageous!) life of the drag queen, Peaches Queen. Peaches has left her old life in Ireland far behind. This documentary follows her prepare to reconnect with her Irish roots.
