My name is Manasseh Marfo, and I am the second-born child in a family of five rambunctious boys. Born and raised in the picturesque town of Adankwame, Kumasi, Ghana, my early life was marked by a series of challenges that would ultimately shape my destiny. As a young student at Abena Kwabena Academy, I struggled to find my footing, and my parents were faced with the daunting prospect of my potential repetition in class one. However, my mother's intuition and perseverance led her to transfer me to Saint Dominic R/C J.H.S, a government school that would become the catalyst for my transformation. Despite initial struggles, I began to blossom under the tutelage of Mr. Appiah, a teacher who recognized my potential and encouraged me to strive for excellence. His promise of a malt reward for students who excelled in exams sparked a fire within me, and I began to work tirelessly to improve my academic standing. As I progressed through junior high school, I started to gain recognition for my academic prowess, earning top positions in exams and representing my school in various competitions. My crowning achievement came when I emerged as the second-best student among 136 students in a combined class exam. My academic success continued unabated as I transitioned to senior high school, where I initially enrolled as a general arts student. However, after a fortuitous conversation with a teacher, I discovered a newfound passion for science and mathematics, which led me to switch courses and ultimately excel in the national science and math quiz selection test. Throughout my academic journey, I have been blessed with numerous accolades and recognition, including a certificate from the Minister of Education and a cash award from a Catholic father for my outstanding performance in a Catholic quiz competition. Despite facing setbacks, including a debilitating illness that threatened to derail my participation in a crucial competition, I have persevered and continued to push beyond my limits. One of my most memorable experiences was when I was nominated to represent my school in a STEM competition in the Ashanti region. The competition was conducted on a district basis, and I was fortunate to be selected as one of the contestants to represent my district. The competition was organized by the then-nominated Minister of Education in 2019, and I was awarded a certificate for my outstanding performance. In addition to my academic achievements, I have also had the opportunity to participate in various extracurricular activities. I was nominated to play the role of "sports guy" during my school's anniversary celebration, where I, along with a fellow student, Bright, was tasked with reciting 90 teams and 90 coaches. We spent three days memorizing the task and were able to recite it flawlessly during the competition, earning us thunderous applause and admiration from the audience.
