Douglas Issai Ndanshau is a Tanzanian sound designer, sound recordist, and boom operator born on July 6, 1992, in Hai, Kilimanjaro. With a passion for audio production and a deep love for music, he pursued his studies at Taasisi ya Sanaa na Utamaduni Bagamoyo (TaSUBa), where he earned both a Certificate and a Diploma in Music and Sound Production from March 2021 to March 2024.
Throughout his career, Douglas has built a reputation for his expertise in location sound recording, mixing, and sound design, working on a range of projects both locally and internationally. Notable collaborations include the documentary ‘Huawei Leap/Seeds for the Future,’ filmed in South Africa and Madagascar, and the Tanzanian TV project ‘The Mechanics of the Serengeti.’ His work has also extended to wildlife conservation projects, such as the film ‘Wild Hope Butterfly’ with Ngoteya Wild, and sound design contributions to ‘Wings and Nets,’ a drone-filmed project that showcases his creative touch.
Douglas is proficient in digital audio workstations such as FL Studio, Studio One, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools, excelling in sound recording, editing, mixing, mastering, and beat-making. His collaborations with organizations like Good Neighbors Tanzania, Afrisos, Ngoteya Wild and numerous freelance projects have further enhanced his portfolio.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Douglas enjoys playing pool, watching sports, going on road trips, and recording unique sounds in different environments.
