Industry Experience

Media & Entertainment
paper Reeling in the years 2002

This is a “Reeling in the Years" style radio project that I created during my third year of Music & Sound Engineering at TUS. I researched the chosen year, scripted the narrative, recorded all voiceovers, and edited the full piece — blending music and commentary to recreate the classic RTÉ format. The project strengthened my storytelling, pacing, and audio editing skills.

paper The rise of home recording studios in Ireland

For this fourth‑year college project, I produced a radio‑style documentary exploring the rise of home recording studios across Ireland and around the world.
I researched the topic, wrote the script, recorded and edited all narration, and mixed the final piece.
The project combined audio storytelling with industry insight, highlighting how accessible recording technology is shaping today’s music scene.

    paper Hi Crash Ride

Hi Crash Ride is my capstone project exploring how drums and percussion influence musical genre identity. I re‑created Daft Punk’s Get Lucky in three distinct styles (Jazz, Reggae, and Funk Rock) to highlight how rhythm, feel, and production choices shape listener perception.

I handled the majority of the recording, mixing, and editing, working as both audio engineer and drummer. During drum tracking, I collaborated with another engineer to capture my performances, and I recorded other musicians on guitar and piano to bring authenticity to each arrangement. I also created the bass guitar parts using a MIDI keyboard and instrument plug‑ins.

The project demonstrates my approach to genre transformation through rhythm, tone, and arrangement, showing how subtle changes in drum technique and production can completely redefine a song’s overall feel.
