Experienced in the world of textile design since 2006, specialising in woven textile design, hand weaving and digital weaving. I create hand-woven patterns as a textile design language and personally weave on a wide variety of looms, from the ancient hand loom to the innovative digital jacquard loom. I work as a technical consultant for the development of textile prototypes, for all applications, from studies for new collections, through prototypes with innovative and technological yarns, to research for the reconstruction of antique textiles, the enhancement of museum and archive collections. In 2015 I founded - Nicoletta Di Gaetano Progettazione Tessile - a woven textile design studio where I create textile prototypes, limited edition collections and offer design consultancy. In 2012 I founded the Scuola di Tessitura e Progettazione Tessile (School of Weaving and Textile Design) at the Museo della Tappezzeria 'Vittorio Zironi' in Bologna and from 2021 I will redesign the Scuola di Tessitura (School of Weaving) at the Museo della Civiltà Contadina di Bentivoglio (Museum of Rural Life of Bentivoglio) in order to continue to transmit the art of weaving with the aim of valorising the material and immaterial textile heritage.…Experienced in the world of textile design since 2006, specialising in woven textile design, hand weaving and digital weaving.
