Nonye Maria Aghaji is a seasoned journalist and communication specialist with over two decades of experience in broadcast, print, and digital media. Her work spans reporting, advocacy, storytelling, digital, information and technology services. She currently co-creates and edits radio programmes, produces and edits website and newsletter content, trains journalists, trains/tutors AI, performs search engine evaluation, and manages communication and research projects.
Nonye has contributed to international media platforms, including Deutsche Welle (DW), The Independent (UK), West Africa Democracy Radio, and BBC Media Action. Her stories explore governance, social justice, health, environment, and the intersection of technology and society. She has also worked as a news editor and producer at major Nigerian stations such as Boss FM, We FM, and Vision FM, and as a fact-checker and digital media evaluator.
A recipient of the BBC World Service Trust Merit Award, the UN FAO Media Fellowship, and the Internews Nigeria Reporter of the Month Award, Nonye is passionate about ethical journalism and the responsible use of technology in media.
