Editorial Intern at First Second / Macmillan - 120 Broadway

Wrote and edited various copyright and contract-related copy; reviewed proofs and performed line editing. Provided feedback on submissions and acquisitions for the editorial team, assisted with in-house upkeep and metadata tasks via Biblio Suite, and edited author biographies, loglines, and title descriptions. Organized roles across in-house editors, designers, publicity, and production editors within Biblio; researched comparative titles; crafted keywords and sales points; submitted nominated titles for awards. Also supported TIP sheets by creating and updating informational sheets, created PowerPoint materials for launch seasons, assisted with PMEs and contract oversight, and archived trade reviews from sources such as School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, and Kirkus.
Student-Led Editor at INK Magazine (SVA)

Served as full-time student editor with weekly meetings throughout the academic year. Took on evolving editorial responsibilities across roles (supporting tasks as a sophomore, copy editing as a junior, and creative control as a senior). Collaborated with other INK editors and the magazine supervisor; designed promotional work and distributed posters around campus. Managed the publication process end-to-end, including deep work in InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, review and feedback cycles for comic submissions (pacing, visuals, dialogue), recruiting interviewees and contributors, proofreading and cutting interviews for print quality, creating and updating yearly budgets, maintaining web visuals and information (Wix), and managing magazine email workflows for submissions and editor recruitment.

Organized club events with feedback from the BSU board and handled general club management tasks such as event sign-ups and completion of registration forms. Managed finance-related duties including tracking club finances, oversaw BSU email communications and followed up on leads, and wrote and distributed bi-monthly newsletters about events.
