I’m Olaf Mayer, a 2D Game Artist based in Bristol with 15+ years of experience creating art for games. I’m passionate about bringing ideas to life through illustration, animation, and concept art, delivering game-ready assets across multiple platforms. I collaborate closely with art directors and stakeholders to refine visuals and ensure assets perform well on a range of devices. Besides design I also work closely with developers to integrate assets directly in engine making sure they perform aesthetically as well as technically.

I owned and delivered the whole user interface for Boltgun, from conception to integration. I developed the UX flow and also illustrated all the artwork for the frontend and the in game hud. I implemented assets directly in Unreal engine and also build some custom shaders for VFX and animation. I worked closely with developers, stakeholders and directors to make sure things are functional and in line with the intended art direction. Besides managing my own work load I also mentored a junior UI artist and gave direction and reviewed their work.
