YeksGreen is a digital product (responsive website and dedicated mobile app) that helps young Nigerian adults learn how to cook healthier meals. These days, young adults depend so much on junk and processed foods, which are not entirely healthy, while life expectancy keeps decreasing. Research has found that more people die of the consequences of illnesses provoked by junk food. The goal of YeksGreen is to help increase awareness of the benefits of eating healthy by educating young adults on how to cook healthier meals for themselves. This is a personal project based on designing the user experience for a social good. I believe that UX designers can do society good as a direct or indirect part of user experience design by embarking on a personal project or joining one with a social organization. Mich Homes allows users to search by specific regions within Awka City to find accommodation in their preferred location. Verified homeowners upload the details of apartments up for rent. The goal of Mich Homes is to eliminate the gap that exists between renters looking for housing and apartment owners with vacant units. I designed the user experience for this product in 5 core stages; EMPATHIZE, IDEATE, DESIGN, PROTOTYPE AND TEST. The problem - New migrants and current Awka residents find it hard to secure a conducive apartment to live in. Yumdy Kitchen is an ultra-modern kitchen whose target customers are the working class who find it hard or almost impossible to get good food during working hours due to busy schedules. Yumdy also strives to deliver superior-quality special meals to high-level commuters who find they lack the time necessary to prepare lunch and/or dinner, or otherwise can’t do so, or to anyone who is a lover of good food. Yumdy focuses on high-quality fresh ingredients and a variety of meal options. Yumdy highlights health-conscious options, such as lower-carb swallow options and fish soups, as well as healthy jollof rice with veggies. They can offer a wide spectrum of competitive pricing, depending on the options chosen by the customer. The dedicated mobile app brings all these together.
