Jean Oyola (Bayamón, PR 1989) Painter Muralist & Social Activist fusing his practice in an interdisciplinary way by immersing in the art department on film productions for movies, music videos & advertisements. In the street art & public interventions field Oyola is a quick learner that has demonstrated capacity to work with a wide array of materials & techniques that range from mosaic murals to spray paint. Oyola is best known for his arabesque & calligraphic traces, as well for his puzzlelike and colorful compositions. The statement of his work is based upon his position as a caribbean and island based artist questioning the supposed borderlines in which we live. He obtained a Magna Cum Laude Ba in Communications, with a specialty on Visual Arts from the University of Sacred Heart, and is currently undergoing MA studies in Cultural Management in the University of Puerto Rico.
