Shabari - Sound Design & Audio Post-Production
As the Sound Designer and Audio Engineer for Shabari, I was responsible for crafting the entire sonic landscape from the raw production audio to the final, polished mix. My goal was to ensure that every sound element served the director’s vision, enhancing the narrative and emotional impact of the film.
My work on this project encompassed the full audio post-production pipeline:
Dialogue Editing & Cleanup: I meticulously edited, synced, and processed all production dialogue using industry-standard tools like iZotope RX to remove background noise, microphone bumps, and other artifacts, resulting in crystal-clear and intelligible vocals.
Creative Sound Design: I designed and built the film’s auditory world from the ground up. This included creating [mention 1-2 specific examples, e.g., the eerie ambience for the forest scenes.
Foley & Ambiance: To add a layer of tactile realism, I sourced and recorded custom Foley sounds for footsteps, props, and specific character movements. I also layered detailed ambient beds to give each location a unique and believable acoustic signature.
Music Editing & Integration: I worked closely with the composer to seamlessly edit and integrate the original score, ensuring perfect sync with the picture and a harmonious balance with dialogue and sound effects.
Final Mix & Mastering: The final 5.1/Theatre [choose one] mix was completed in Pro Tools, carefully balancing all dialogue, music, and sound effect elements for clarity, depth, and dynamic impact. The master was delivered to spec, ensuring technical excellence for festival screenings and digital distribution.
It was a privilege to contribute to Shabari and collaborate with Aneesh Sharma, the director of the film and the talented team to bring this story to life through sound.
