URBAN FLORA – Second Year Project

Urban Flora explores the fusion of traditional Norwegian culture with contemporary fashion. The project was inspired by the intricate embroidery, woven patterns, and silver detailing found in traditional Norwegian clothing, reinterpreting these heritage elements into modern, wearable garments. By combining cultural influences with current fashion trends, I created a collection that celebrates tradition while giving it a fresh, contemporary identity.

Throughout the project, I managed the complete design process, from cultural and trend research to concept development, moodboards, fabric and colour selection, fashion illustrations, and garment construction. I also designed a custom print inspired by traditional Norwegian patterns, which was digitally printed onto fabric specifically for the collection. The garments were developed using structured fabrics to create volume and distinctive silhouettes, while embroidered details and carefully selected trims reinforced the connection between heritage and modern design.

    LUMINÉ PLEATS – Graduate Collection

Luminé Pleats is my graduate collection, inspired by the emotional journey of heartbreak and personal growth. The collection consists of six looks, each representing a different stage of healing—from numbness and pain to anger, sadness, healing, and finally rebirth. Through the use of pleating, sculptural silhouettes, and a carefully considered colour progression from dark to light, I translated complex emotions into wearable art.

Throughout the project, I was responsible for every stage of the design process, including concept development, trend and fabric research, moodboards, fashion illustrations, material sourcing, pattern cutting, garment construction, and final styling. I explored how fabric manipulation could communicate emotion, using pleats as a recurring design element to symbolise both vulnerability and resilience. The final collection was photographed in carefully selected locations that reinforced the narrative of each stage, creating a complete visual story from concept to execution.
