A 256-page book to celebrate the 25-year milestone of the GCC.
CCG – Centro de Computação Gráfica [Center for Computer Graphics] was founded in 1993 and established at University of Minho in 2001, as a private and nonprofit research, development, training and consulting association, integrated in the Portuguese Scientific System.
CCG celebrated its 25th anniversary in November 2018 with a series of initiatives: Technology Days, Open Day, Debate Panel, CCG Innovation Awards and Solemn Session. These celebrations brought together an ecosystem of technological innovation with around 300 participants from industry, academia, government, employees and the CCG community, sharing knowledge, experiences and moments of fellowship.
This is a book of memories from the people, and the projects, behind CCG’s history.

Art Nouveau meets Primavera BSS, in the 21st century
First edition of Synergy, an event that gathers the most significant business partners of Primavera, in a two-day event. This edition took place in the recently recovered Vidago Palace Hotel, a jewel from the Art Nouveau period, in Portugal.
As the event would be based around the Art Nouveau theme, Primavera wanted the visual language to meet that period, but with a contemporary approach.

Pi Creative Studio identity
After 20 years of activity, the design studio Paleta de Ideias went through a major rebranding process in 2015.
Shifting the name from Paleta de Ideias to Pi was a choice that came with a benefit: the new name also refers to the famous mathematical constant. The identity was built upon the mathematical symbol it represents, using Pi sequence as a tool to explore its visual language.
A set of fonts with geometric shapes were designed, where numerals were replaced by diverse shapes, creating mesmerising patterns when applied to Pi sequence. This simple system is the base of Pi’s identity.

Built from scratch, for v10. Rampa is a bespoke typeface developed for Primavera BSS, born with the release of Primavera v10.
Neither a grotesque nor a humanist font, Rampa is a contemporary yet friendly looking sans serif typeface—with moderate contrast and modern proportions—that plays on both sides of these styles.
The key concept behind v10 branding and communication is a 20 degree acute angle, symbolising growth and evolution. Rampa was crafted to include this 20º angle throughout almost every glyph geometry, present sometimes on a shoulder, on an apex, a leg or even a terminal, to bring out a higher sense of relationship between all parts.
