PG Hodgson is an author, freelance journalist, actor and the artistic director of The Everyman Repertory Theatre, a professional theatre company he co-founded in 2008. He has had several plays and libretti professionally staged. After studying English Literature and Language at Durham University (BA Hons), Mr. Hodgson went on to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to gain a Master of Arts in Performance. At this time he won the Best Young Playwright in Wales Award, and his first play, The Dome of Pleasure, was performed at the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff. Concurrently, he wrote his first libretto, Sinfonia Sacra, with Timothy C. Harrison, which was commissioned by the Colwyn Bay Choral Society. Mr. Hodgson worked as an actor in London and the regions for five years before turning to journalism, a career he continues today as a regular columnist and commentator for Fortune, Reuters, Bloomberg, among others. On moving to the US, he began work as a voiceover artist, eventually moving to regular audiobook recording for Audible. His translation of Moliere’s L’Avare (The Miser), was taken on a regional tour in 2010. In 2015, he was recruited again by Timothy C. Harrison to write a libretto for an opera – The Great Charter – commissioned by Durham Cathedral for the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta. This was performed to critical acclaim in cathedrals in the North East of England. He has also won numerous awards, including Best Feature at the Atlanta International Screenplay Awards, for as yet unproduced film scripts.
