In response to the Covid 19 pandemic, we worked with our friends at CDD Services to produce SafeGuarden - the mobile app and associated suite of tools to help vulnerable people and other people in need find suitable community volunteers in their area.
The solution also empowered volunteers to proactively find local people in need in order to reach out and provide the services they need, such as grocery shopping, dog walking or to simply offer a friendly conversation.
Each care worker or volunteer has their own unique digital identity card to prove they are who they say they are - their RealMeID. Devices can then be scanned to validate identity.
All volunteers are subject to background checks appropriate to the service offered, ensuring all security measures are taken to give vulnerable people the reassurance they need.
SafeGuarden and its associated apps and software is now the most widely used community volunteering software in the UK, and now being purposed for use in other countries.
