Work Experience

Independent UX Consultant at Multiple Clients
February 1, 2026 - Present
Delivered UX strategy, research, and design engagements across multiple client projects. Rebuilt information architecture and restructured content for a public-facing nonprofit website, translating dense subject matter into language accessible to new and previously lapsed visitors. Designed a minimal-footprint social media presence by claiming handles across platforms with near-zero-cost SEO plays that routed back to the site, aligned to the client’s decision not to run an active social strategy.
Senior UX Designer / Researcher / Strategist at Leidos (Client: Social Security Administration)
May 1, 2022 - January 1, 2026
Led SSA’s three-person research and design team by setting research standards and plans, reviewing designs, and serving as liaison to executives and the contracting agency. Partnered with product owners and engineering leads to sequence a mobile-first rollout across 25+ product lines. Mentored junior designers and researchers over a two-year span.
Senior UX/UI Designer at Lynker Technologies (Client: National Science Foundation)
December 1, 2019 - May 1, 2022
Produced wireframes, Figma prototypes, and UAT-ready specifications used since 2022. Pitched modernization roadmap to stakeholders using dashboard and UX trend research to replace guesswork with evidence-based buy-in. Formalized Section 508/WCAG 2.1 governance for an NSF dashboard, instituting testing and pre-launch QA cycles for accessible data visualization.
Senior UX/UI Designer at Manhattan Strategy Group (Clients: VA, Dept. of Labor, Dept. of Education, HHS)
November 1, 2018 - October 1, 2019
Led zero-to-one initiative for the U.S. Department of Education to replace static PDFs with a mobile app enabling non-native-English-speaking parents to filter directly to what they needed; extended reach to teachers and administrators. Adapted design system to Drupal and built information architecture standards for government compliance across Dept. of Education and HHS properties, with standards carried forward and applied retroactively to prior sites.
Senior UX Designer at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
February 1, 2017 - January 1, 2018
Diagnosed taxonomy mismatches that caused complaints to be misclassified and misrouted, improving response time for consumers. Redesigned the complaint portal using progressive disclosure, inline validation, and contextual help grounded in observed behavior, supporting CFPB’s push to shift consumers from phone/in-person reporting to digital self-service.
Senior UX Designer at Insomniac Design (Clients: DC Courts, WHO-Africa)
September 1, 2016 - February 1, 2017
Conducted stakeholder interviews and usability testing to shape information architecture for DC Courts.gov and the WHO Regional Office for Africa site. Partnered with engineering through launch and helped establish the structure that both sites still operate on today.
Lead UX Designer, Independent Consultant at Applied Predictive Technologies / Mastercard
August 1, 2016 - October 1, 2016
Audited the Test & Learn platform’s information architecture and redesigned it by rebuilding the wireframe, reorganizing information, and restyling within Mastercard’s established design system. Reduced effort required to configure experiments and supported teams moving faster toward confident investment decisions.
UX Designer at Yoh Services LLC (Client: Capital One)
May 1, 2016 - October 1, 2016
Helped transform a high-friction secured credit card application into a clearer, trust-centered onboarding experience for underbanked and credit-damaged users. Converted research into a 31-screen prototype with contextual trust signals and missed-payment recovery guidance.

English Learner Family Toolkit | U.S. Department of Education

Built for NCELA (National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition) under a mandate to reach more underserved families. The source material was four hardcopy PDFs. I ran the research plan, built a proof of concept, tested it with real users, and carried it through to a live interactive prototype and developer handoff.
The app shipped. It’s live today on Google Play as “EL Family Toolkit,” available in Arabic, English, Chinese, and Spanish, serving families who need multilingual, accessible information about their children’s education.

    Fullerton Hotel | Booking Experience

A real client project for Fullerton Hotels. I redesigned the mobile booking journey end to end: mapped the full booking experience, built a seven-step low-fidelity wireframe flow, and delivered a live mobile prototype. The product launched, and early user feedback described it as easy to use.
