Pietro Russolo (1999, Oderzo) is an Italian director of photography based in Vancouver, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia's competitive Film Production Program. Working in both the narrative and documentary field, he has been interested in bringing to the forefront the tensions and beauty surrounding Vancouver's communities, youth subculture, the punk scene, coming-to-age genre and Indigenous life with dramatical elements. Russolo's cinematography has an organic and natural feel, drawing inspiration from social realism. His works have been screened at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema du Montreal, the Chicago CineYouth International Film Festival, the Seattle National Film Festival for Talented Youth, the Concordia Film Festival, the Los Angeles Skins Film Festival and the Chilliwack Indepedent Film Festival. Pietro has lived in Italy, the United States, Japan and the Netherlands. He has worked on advertising productions in Italy, engaged as a cinematographer in documentary work in Greece and Independent productions and other documentaries in Canada.
