I’m Piotr Lakowski, a photographer with over 20 years of experience. Photography isn’t just a job to me; it’s how I observe, understand, and connect with the world. I’m drawn to authentic moments, natural expressions, and the subtle details that make each person and story unique.
I bring a dual lens to my work: artistic sensitivity and a structured, data-minded approach from my background in quality analysis. I love portraiture for its honesty and sports photography for its energy and motion. I enjoy collaborating with fellow creatives to craft images that feel alive, meaningful, and true to the moment.

I had the privilege of working as the lead photographer for the first edition of the Holy Moly League Wingfoiling event, held at Isle of Portland — a location known for its dynamic coastal conditions and dramatic scenery, perfect for capturing high-energy watersports.
The event was organised by Rafferty Read, a 4× UK Champion and internationally recognised competitor, ranked 8th, 11th, and 13th in world standings — bringing elite-level vision and credibility to the league’s inaugural edition.
The standout athlete of the event was Freddie Strawson, the current world No. 8 and British Champion, whose performance on the water delivered some of the most dynamic and visually striking moments of the competition.
This project involved close creative collaboration with a videographer and an additional photographer to ensure comprehensive visual coverage of the competition. My role focused on documenting the atmosphere, athletic performance, and environmental context from multiple perspectives.
To capture the full scale and intensity of the event, I photographed both from the water and from land — shooting from a boat to follow the action up close and working from the shoreline to frame wider environmental and storytelling shots. This dual approach allowed me to deliver a varied visual narrative, combining dynamic motion imagery with grounded documentary moments.
The result is a cohesive body of work that showcases the speed, skill, and energy of wingfoiling, while also highlighting the unique character of the location and the spirit of the event’s inaugural edition.
