I’m Preston, a Video Editor based in San Diego, CA. A little on my background, I started my career working in Santa Cruz at Impact Creative, a commercial production company working with brands like Seagate, Cisco, and The Monterey Bay Aquarium. There I learned the fundamentals of editing practices using Premiere, After Effects, Audition and Media Composer. I learned how to create selects, adjust audio, color-correct and many other practicing standards. I transferred these skills into larger client projects, taking on roles individually by the end of my tenure. I swiftly moved to Los Angeles, where I took a position as an Assistant Colorist at Company 3. My main responsibilities involved getting all the final DaVinci Resolve projects ready to roll out to big hitters like Hulu, Netflix, HBO, and CBS. This means everything from IMF's to VAM's to Tiff sequences, you name it. I color-traced from remote projects around the world, and re-confomed projects in Avid Media Composer. I then moved to San Diego and began working for one of my favorite brands, SportRx. They specialized in sports eyewear, selling Ray-Ban, Maui Jim, Oakley and many more. My responsibility was their lead videographer and editor. We had 4 studios, which we utilized to shoot product demos, live streaming broadcasts, brand imagery and a host of other projects. We hosted live streams using Streamyard and OBS, and I edited pieces for their successful YouTube channel. We produced product demos utilizing brand-consistent graphics, and I edited these pieces weekly for consistent output. I also stepped in to produce their docu-series and other long-form content as needed. My most recent experience would be for a company based in New Zealand named Kami. I traveled the U.S. filming content for their various distribution channels. I met teachers and education leaders around the nation, while filming mini-documentary style pieces and editing them after. By this point, I am a one man show. This company was based in New Zealand, so I was their sole video producer responsible for every aspect of the process. I see you have a request to have an editor who can bring positive energy, exceptional communication, and above all, make other’s jobs easier. As my expertise involves the entirety of the production process, I have an understanding of what I can do as an editor to help the videographer, the producer, the marketing manager, and anyone else who has hands on the project. If you have any questions for me, or would like to schedule an interview, please do not hesitate to reach out. I’m available most weekdays from 9am-6pm PST. Thank you for your consideration!
