I am currently an Audio Technology(Bsc Hons)Student at Glasgow Caledonian University, with various experiences throughout many aspects of audio.
Firstly, I have experience with audio software development focussing on virtual instruments and plugins using primarily C++ and the Juce framework.
With this area I have programmed various audio effect plugins such delay and a multi-band compression plugin which I have used as the main focus for my honours project.
I also have experience programming various audio systems and software through Cycling 74s Max MSP.
Using this software I have programmed subtractive synthesisers and various audio effect such as chorus, delay, distortion amongst various others. I have also experimented with various audio systems that allow different systems and hardware to communicate over various network protocols such as IP and WiFi.
Additionally, I have experience with Games sound design through using Unreal engine in tandem with middleware software such as FMOD.
Within this area have created and implemented audio for various game levels such a first person shooter game and a racing game. In this area I have focussed on audio for environmental and game/narrative specific ambience using things such as ambisonic audio recordings and procedural audio systems for sounds that change over time. I have also worked on adaptive audio systems for things such as cars where various environmental and physical aspects come in to play when considering the behaviour of a cars audio in game.
Furthermore, I have experience with room acoustics specifically using software such as EASE and room EQ wizard with use of various acoustic measuring hardware such has binaural speakers, measurement microphones.
Within this area I have measured room acoustic parameters such RT60 and SPL across different areas of a room. Using the information found to compare to a modelled room within EASE 5 to identify discrepancies.
Additionally, I have around 5 years of music production experience using various DAW, although mainly using ableton for my day to day productions. Within this area I focus on electronic music genres such as techno with additional interests in ambient music, hip hop, lofi and general experimental sound design.
I also particularly focus on the mixing and mastering aspect of music production where I consciously focus on the dynamic content of tracks and consistently monitor the behaviour of my tracks using analysis plugins such as spectrograms, loudness meters, stereo imaging amongst various others.
