Ra’ees Hassan

I’m Ra’ees Hassan, a cinematographer drawn to sports, automotive, landscapes, and human-driven stories—especially when production happens in diverse, remote, or demanding environments. My path into visual storytelling started in advertising and post-production in Johannesburg, where I worked as an Art Director and corporate film editor, before transitioning fully into cinematography in 2017.

I bring a collaborative, story-driven approach to every project: I prepare thoroughly, stay responsive to light and movement, and remain open to the unexpected on set. Along the way I’ve built broad production fluency through roles across camera departments, camera assisting, offline editing, and stills photography, working on commercials, music videos, documentaries, promos, and digital content across Cape Town, Johannesburg, and internationally.
