I’m Renaldo Matadeen, a Caribbean-born creator who swapped a chemistry lab for cameras, copy, and storytelling. I trained as a chemical engineer at the University of the West Indies and switched gears to write, report, and produce for TV, film, and digital media. I’ve written for ESPN Caribbean, Caribbean Belle, Punknews, Cricinfo, CBR, and New Noise Magazine. I worked at ad agencies such as McCann, DDB and Ogilvy as well. I eventually built Near Future Studios (NFS) into a home for narrative-driven content that blends art and cinema with business strategy. This streamlines ad campaigns, making the translation of brands’ messages more alluring, relatable, organic, genuine and efficient.
Today, I split my time between Los Angeles and the Caribbean, growing NFS as a full-service studio that develops docuseries, branded content, and interactive media for global brands. I lean on my Caribbean and Venezuelan heritage and my Spanish-speaking ability to tell these stories with universal appeal. I love collaborating with partners, training teams, and turning ambitious ideas into production-ready work that resonates with audiences.
