paper Dune Side Story: Tunnels of Arrakis - Main Theme

The main theme to an unofficial side storyline set in Frank Herbert’s Dune universe, also intended as a video game.

A mixture of acoustic instruments (acoustic guitar, dulcimer, gamalan, and percussion) and synthesized sounds (choir voices and drums).

The Fremen lure hundreds of sandworms to their death in order to use their skeletons to support a sprawling tunnel system under the dunes of Arrakis. This sacrificial act is necessary for the Fremen to survive the hostilities of the desert’s increasingly unforgiving environment, and the growing number of external threats who see Arrakis as prized territory.
