My main concern is what perspective is this story being told from, what is the conflict and how do I want to tell this story. This is true for a video edit or a film. Is my message clear ? What are the elements that are necessary to tell this story ? Is the tone right ? Is the pace right ? What is my angle ? It's a very different approach if you're making a corporate video or a piece of fiction. I always put myself at the service of the story that I'm telling. It's not what I personally want but what is needed in order to make the story work. Quality is key in video. It's a visual medium. If you have a poor quality this will be at a disservice for the message that you want to tell. You might loose a part of your audience.
