My degree in Fine Art from the Ahmadu Bello University was more than just a learning experience. It gave me the opportunity to meet make friends, meet mentors and other artists of my peers. It allowed me to open my mind to music, drama and other aspects of art I previously did not find relevant. My major was in painting. The first 2 years were an introduction to the arts in general were we required to take elective courses in social sciences, industrial design and drama. Afterwards, we had to choose an area of specialisation and I chose painting. I turned in my project in October 2007 which was on the effects of drug abuse and that was farewell. It is a journey I will never forget.
