I’m a Canadian film director, cinematographer and director of photography working across Shenzhen, Guangzhou and the Greater Bay Area, with more than 20 years of experience in film and commercial production. I’ve worked across China and Asia on commercials, branded content, documentaries, corporate films and narrative projects for international clients including CHANEL, BVLGARI, Huawei, BBC StoryWorks, Walmart and Star Alliance.
My strongest focus is directing and cinematography, combining visual storytelling with practical, production-minded problem-solving. Depending on the project, I can also work as a videographer, video editor and colourist, providing a consistent creative eye from production through final delivery.
Through my Guangzhou-based production company, I can also support international productions as a film fixer or line producer, helping with bilingual crews, equipment, locations, permits and local logistics throughout China. I’m comfortable working with both compact documentary teams and full-scale commercial crews.

I was Director of Photography for this two-part corporate testimonial campaign for Walmart Fulfillment Services, filmed on location in Shanghai.
The interview-led series follows two Chinese businesses and explores how Walmart’s multichannel logistics infrastructure helped them reach international customers. Each film combined carefully lit talking-head interviews with documentary b-roll covering the people, products, workplaces and operational details behind each business.
The objective was to create authentic, credible corporate storytelling that could communicate the practical value of Walmart Fulfillment Services to other Chinese brands and entrepreneurs.

Campaign Film
Master Cinematography Film
I served as Director of Photography on this seven-day campaign for the Vivo X300 Ultra, filmed across mainland China and Hong Kong.
The campaign was designed to demonstrate that the X300 Ultra could function as a genuine filmmaking tool alongside professional cinema cameras. We filmed using the Vivo X300 Ultra, Sony Venice II and Sony FX6, creating a consistent visual language across three cameras with very different sensors, dynamic range and colour science.
I developed custom movie looks for the phone and used them throughout production, allowing the X300 Ultra footage to cut convincingly alongside the cinema-camera material.
Directed by Alexander Browne and produced by Capture Light in Shenzhen.

A cinematic Kickstarter campaign film for Tiiny AI Pocket Lab, a pocket-sized AI supercomputer capable of running large language models locally.
I served as Director of Photography and Colourist, developing a grounded, human visual approach to a highly technical product. The film combined live-action cinematography with selected AI-generated shots, using the Alexa 35 and Dulens APO Mini Primes to maintain a consistent cinematic look across both.
Directed by Alexander Browne and produced by Capture Light in Shenzhen. The campaign attracted 2,181 backers, raised more than US$3 million and received Kickstarter’s “Projects We Love” badge.

I served as Director of Photography on this two-day corporate factory documentary for Miele’s expanded manufacturing facility in Dongguan, China.
The production included seven in-depth interviews with company leadership and team members, extensive coverage of the manufacturing process, and FPV drone flythroughs filmed throughout the facility. The film also documents Miele’s large-scale solar installation and its growing commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
The visual approach balanced the precision and detail of the factory’s assembly and testing processes with the scale of the people, technology and energy infrastructure behind its operations.

I co-directed, photographed and colour graded this testimonial-style product commercial for GutSmart, a smart yogurt maker that produces customized probiotic blends at home.
The commercial follows three distinct characters: a stay-at-home mother, a yoga teacher and a Wall Street professional. Each character was given a different visual identity, using warm tones for nurturing, calm natural imagery for balance, and stronger contrast for ambition and drive.
The creative challenge was moving between three lifestyles and visual styles within a short runtime while keeping the commercial cohesive and the product message clear.
Filmed using the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 with DZO Vespid Primes.

I directed and photographed this cinematic profile of Zhang Jianmin, founder of CiGa, for Business of Design Week 2022, Asia’s premier annual event for design, innovation and brands.
Produced in collaboration with Capsule48 in Hong Kong, the film was created specifically to screen at the event before continuing online. Working within an initially limited interview window, I developed a more cinematic and character-driven approach than a conventional corporate talking-head profile.
The result captured Zhang Jianmin’s ideas, personality and creative energy while giving the film the visual presence needed for presentation on a major event stage.

I served as Director of Photography on this product launch film for iGarden’s AI-powered robotic lawnmower, filmed on location in Bangkok, Thailand.
The visual approach was designed to communicate both the intelligence of the autonomous technology and the precise results it produces. We filmed at a large residential property beside a golf course, giving the product an uninterrupted green landscape and an aspirational environment in which to demonstrate its movement, navigation and performance.
Directed by Alex Browne and photographed using the ARRI Alexa Mini LF with Dulens APO Cambrian Primes.
