I am Salomón Simhon, a Colombian filmmaker, director, and producer born in Bogotá in 1983. I grew up in a world of arts and entertainment, shaped by my mother Eleonora Perea, a renowned art dealer, and my father Jose Simhon, an acclaimed illusionist. My early love for visuals led me to make my first short film ¿Quién soy? in high school with family members in the cast, studied philosophy at Universidad de los Andes, and trained at the Black Maria Film School, where I directed Fe and Sinfónica and later S MILE in Sydney. Back in Bogotá, I founded Direktor Films in 2006, producing music videos and commercials for international brands such as Toyota, Pepsi, Air Jordan, Perry Ellis, Chevrolet, Riot Games, and Visa, and earning three Santalucia Best Music Video awards and two Shock Awards along the way. I opened Cine Tonalá, Bogotá’s first independent cinema, while directing Detective Marañón for Dynamo Productions and collaborating with Mr. Woo Films in Mexico City. In 2020 I made my television debut directing three episodes of Malayerba for VIX Pantaya and Starz, and in 2023 I directed the global Air Jordan campaign while celebrating Riot Games’ League of Legends’ 10th anniversary.
