I’m Samuel Torres, a backend and infrastructure developer who enjoys building secure REST APIs, well-structured databases, and reliable production systems. I’m especially comfortable moving between application logic and the operational details—like reading logs, tuning Docker networking, and tightening auth/authorization—so systems stay dependable in real-world environments. I graduated from NAIT in Summer 2026 and have built end-to-end solutions using Python/Django and PHP/Laravel with Keycloak (OIDC/OAuth2), plus data warehouse and BI workflows with SQL Server, SSIS/SSAS, and Power BI. Outside of coursework, I also run and maintain a self-hosted infrastructure on dedicated hardware with Docker, Nginx, Tailscale, and Uptime Kuma, and I use AI development tools as part of how I work—always with a focus on correctness, security, and clean engineering.

    ChainLog

ChainLog is a mobile application built with Flutter and Dart, designed to help users track and manage their Bicycles and maintenance schedules. The app integrates with Firebase for data storage and authentication, allowing users to securely log their bike details, maintenance history, and receive reminders for upcoming service needs. With a user-friendly interface and robust features, ChainLog aims to simplify bike ownership and ensure that users can keep their bicycles in optimal condition.

This project was a great opportunity for me to apply my skills in mobile app development and learn more about integrating third-party services like Firebase. The App also integrates OAuth for secure user authentication within the integrated API with Bike Index, allowing users to easily log in and manage their bike information. I’m excited to continue developing this app and adding new features in the future!

ChainLong started as a school project, but has turned into a personal project that I am passionate about and plan to continue developing and improving over time. I’m looking forward to sharing it with others and getting feedback on how to make it even better!
