Samuel Kostevc is an ACS Gold award winning documentary and commercial cinematographer based in Melbourne (Naarm), Australia. His work specialises in intimate, human stories, prioritising the perspectives first and foremost of those on the other side of the lens.
Working extensively in documentary and not-for-profit productions, Samuel is interested in crafting films that see a diverse range of stories presented in a dignifying and empowering way, where the human experience is front and centre, told in beautiful, moving frames.
Samuel’s documentary and commercial work has been screened across television and festivals internationally. His self-directed series Stories of Power premiered on SBS, SBS Food and SBS On Demand in 2024. Numerous documentary shorts and national TVC campaigns such as Tinning Street, A Most Solemn Ramadan and First Nations at the Forefront have reached critical acclaim with recognition from Director’s Library, 1.4 Longlist Awards of Brilliant Filmmaking and more.
