Hi, I’m Sarah Bright, a freelance Video Editor with credits for BBC, Discovery, and Disney Nature, plus YouTube and branded content. I specialise in crafting engaging narratives across both long-form documentaries and short-form social content, with strong instincts for pacing, tension, and emotional storytelling.
I see long-form and short-form as two sides of the same craft; short-form is essentially long-form distilled, and long-form is short-form stitched together. My experience across broadcast documentaries and social content means I’m confident shaping stories for any platform.
Proficient in Avid, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve, I also integrate AI tools (ChatGPT, DALL·E, Runway) to deliver fresh, innovative visuals.
I also have working knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop as needed for graphics and finishing touches.
In 2023, I spoke at Wildscreen on the power of LGBTQIA+ storytellers in natural history, reflecting my commitment to inclusive, diverse storytelling.
Based in the UK (GMT), I’m available for remote freelance or contract work worldwide.

I took over the edit for Episode 1 of Incredible Animal Journeys when the editor left, a landmark wildlife documentary narrated by Jeremy Renner. This was a major, year-long post-production with multiple episodes running simultaneously. In addition to mainly editing Episode 1, I was brought on to other episodes where extra editorial support was needed from time to time, shaping migration stories with emotional resonance, narrative clarity, and strong pacing.
• Broadcast internationally on Disney+ and National Geographic, 2023
• Editor on Episode 1 (primary credit)
• Additional editorial support across multiple other episodes
Role credited: Editor
I edited Episode 3 (Bloodlines) of this acclaimed natural history series, and also contributed editorial support on Episode 1 during a transition between editors. My role included shaping complex animal storylines, refining pacing for emotional impact, and ensuring visual continuity across challenging multicamera and location material.
• Broadcast on BBC and PBS, 2023
• Episode 3 (Bloodlines) full editor credit
• Episode 1 (Home) support edit
