Sarah Horning is a graphic designer and digital artist based in the port city of Wilmington, North Carolina, specializing in brand identity and visual storytelling. She has a talent for adaptability and likes to consider herself a graphic design chameleon. Working across both digital and print media, her graphic design experience spans museum events, exhibitions, wedding stationery, and digital campaigns, with a foundation in fashion-marketing-focused design that continues to inform her craft. Sarah has been practicing design for over a decade, first exploring Adobe Photoshop in high school before studying Fashion Marketing at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she learned to create visual identity and develop brand identity systems. Discovering she enjoyed the more visual side of marketing, Sarah decided to pursue her newfound passion for graphic design. She later earned a BA in Studio Art with a minor in Digital Arts from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Her work has been exhibited in regional shows, including FLOW ILM (2023, 2024), the Cargo District in collaboration with Matt Roberts’ Invasive Species, and the Kresge Greenhouse annual installation. In Fall 2025, she presented Shelf Life in the Sum of Us Senior Exhibit at CAB Art Gallery. Sarah also has an interest in current trends, trend predictions, and trend cycles, and is fascinated by how early artists impact visual systems today. Her personal work is influenced by traditional graphic artists who continue to influence modern design, such as Alphonse Mucha, Andy Warhol, and Katsushika Hokusai. Sarah believes inspiration for graphic design can be found in the most unexpected places, shaping work that is both visually compelling and deeply connected to its audience. She hopes to create art that leaves an impact on the world, inspiring at least one person in the same way so many others have inspired her. She currently lives near the beach in Wilmington, surrounded by her family, friends, and lovable labradors, Sunny and Darla.
