Hi, I’m Sara Mateya, a psychology student and youth advocate based in Ellington, CT. I’m pursuing a PsyD at Antioch University New England and earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Saint Joseph. For over twelve years, I’ve led and supported young people, creating safe, inclusive spaces and using evidence-based approaches to help them thrive. I’m passionate about applying clinical psychology principles to real-world settings and about developing skills that will serve my future career as a Clinical Psychologist. In addition to my clinical interests, I’m a published poet and a committed writer. My two poetry collections reflect resilience, connection, and humanity. Professionally, I’ve built a track record in education, ABA support, and youth programming—roles that require empathy, patience, clear communication, and a willingness to go above and beyond for learners. I look forward to bringing these strengths to collaborative teams focused on positive outcomes for individuals and communities.
