CHILDREN'S SERVICES MANAGER - LIBRARIAN II at Charleston County Public Library

Managed employees, programming, resources, outreach, and library services in the Children's Services Division. Assisted children and caregivers in using and borrowing library resources, including story books and reader's advisory services. Created and managed department content such as displays, flyers, calendars, book lists, and displays. Oversaw expansion of a new department from 1,000 to 14,000 square feet, and led resource management and staff growth. Initiated a community garden project, secured produce donations, and wrote a grant for garden expansion. Implemented accessibility improvements and chaired a disability group as part of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.

CHILDREN'S SERVICES LIBRARIAN – LIBRARIAN I at Charleston County Public Library

Established programming for community children and led outreach to local elementary schools, promoting library services. Built STEAM education opportunities, purchased manipulatives for preschoolers, and created a STEAM library for children 11 and under. Devised and executed a proposal for an educational native plant garden, and established seed libraries to provide free seeds for home gardens. Negotiated reduced pricing with vendors and inspired similar programs across an 18-branch system, with a focus on native plants to support pollinators.
