I am Simone Pace, a musician and sound designer born in Rome in 1996. I immersed myself in the online vaporwave and plunderphonics scenes from 2013 to 2018, releasing as OMI5. In 2018 I started a formal study of sound design at IED Rome, graduating in 2021. My thesis, ‘Musica Programmata per Interni’, presented as a sound installation for Fondazione Casa Museo Bellonci, inspired by Philip Glass and Steve Reich. I also joined the experimental post-rock trio Yora Yora during this period. In 2023 I returned to releasing music as Omis Elegia, expanding collaborations with Pyteca, Quiet Ensemble, Videocittà Festival and other events. My current research focuses on minimalistic melodic patterns shaped by digital distortion.

This project was my graduation thesis at IED Rome: a site-specific sound installation exploring repetition, phase shifting, and ambient perception. Inspired by the compositional techniques of Steve Reich and Philip Glass, I developed a generative audio system based on overlapping loops and shifting patterns, designed to subtly alter the listener’s perception of space over time. The installation aimed to create a meditative, evolving soundscape capable of transforming ordinary interiors into immersive listening environments.
