I am Simone Pace, a musician and sound designer born in Rome in 1996. I immersed myself in the online vaporwave and plunderphonics scenes from 2013 to 2018, releasing as OMI5. In 2018 I started a formal study of sound design at IED Rome, graduating in 2021. My thesis, 'Musica Programmata per Interni', presented as a sound installation for Fondazione Casa Museo Bellonci, inspired by Philip Glass and Steve Reich. I also joined the experimental post-rock trio Yora Yora during this period. In 2023 I returned to releasing music as Omis Elegia, expanding collaborations with Pyteca, Quiet Ensemble, Videocittà Festival and other events. My current research focuses on minimalistic melodic patterns shaped by digital distortion.

uniE603 From the Archaic to the Fast Self [Pyteca] – Experimental EP
An experimental audio work exploring the tension between ancient sonic archetypes and the accelerated pace of digital identity. The EP blends minimalist structures, fractured rhythms, and processed vocal fragments.
uniE603 Soft Hurricane – Sound design for immersive installation Quiet Ensemble – Barcelona / Berlin, 2024
I created the sound design for Soft Hurricane, an immersive audiovisual installation by the Italian collective Quiet Ensemble. The piece explores the tension between artificial calm and chaotic forces through a choreography of light, wind, and motion. My role was to design an evolving sonic environment that interacts dynamically with the installation’s kinetic elements, enhancing the sense of immersion and emotional disorientation. The sound palette combines granular textures, deep drones, and generative rhythms, aiming to blur the line between natural and synthetic phenomena.
paper Programmed Music for Interiors – Fondazione Bellonci / IED Rome, 2021

This project was my graduation thesis at IED Rome: a site-specific sound installation exploring repetition, phase shifting, and ambient perception. Inspired by the compositional techniques of Steve Reich and Philip Glass, I developed a generative audio system based on overlapping loops and shifting patterns, designed to subtly alter the listener’s perception of space over time. The installation aimed to create a meditative, evolving soundscape capable of transforming ordinary interiors into immersive listening environments.
