Canadian composer, Beverly Lewis, studied music at Mount Allison University, majoring in piano. Bev currently teaches piano at the University Settlement Music and Arts School, directs music at Bathurst United Church and is a freelance accompanist and chamber musician. Bev’s compositions have been performed in Austria, Canada, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States and her music has been broadcast on CBC Radio and on CFTA FM Radio. She has won several awards (Amadeus Choir Carol competition and Toronto Arts Council) and her pieces have been recorded by various musicians. Bev’s compositions are currently being published by Cypress Choral Music (Canada), Renforth Music (Canada), Forton Music (UK) and Palliser Music (Canada). Bev enjoys collaborating with musicians and singers who wish to be involved in the process as she composes. She is very comfortable with being given a "wish list" by the commissioner concerning such things as, theme, form, tempo, key, range, feeling, etc. She is also happy to work independently if that is what is desired by the commissioner. She is able to compose in various styles and is open to new ideas and opportunities. Some notes from Bev: If you want to hear more examples of my compositions, or to obtain more in-depth information about the compositions I have uploaded to Twine, please refer to my SoundCloud page at: _Website not available. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_ (You may have to copy and paste the above link. Once you are in, please double-click on each thumbnail picture for more in-depth information about each piece.) The cost of 435.00 USD per day that I posted is actually not my standard rate. I had to enter an amount as there was no way to indicate that my project prices are usually negotiated, based on number of parts and number of minutes, using the current composer's commissioning rates, as set by the Canadian League of Composers. If you have reached the end of my bio, thanks for reading it! I hope you will consider me to compose for you.
