I’m Oleksandra Smile, a 2D artist from Dnipro, Ukraine, focused on creating polished, game-ready visuals—from concept and mood pieces to final rendering. I enjoy building consistent art styles across isometric environments, props, icons, and UI elements, and I’m especially drawn to turning early sketches into clean, production-ready assets.

Over the years I’ve contributed to game art pipelines and collaborative art teams, including environment concepting, location mood boards, character skin/asset work, and illustration for production. I’m comfortable working with Blender and Adobe Photoshop, collaborating in teams.

A comprehensive study of rendering different materials and textures on a single 3D-inspired form. This project explores how light interacts with various surfaces, from basic matte plaster to complex translucent liquids and polished metals.
Process: Sketch → Line Art → Topology → Value Study.
Materials explored: Clay, Plastic, Wood, Stone, Gold, Glass, and Liquid.
Style: Stylized / Casual Game Art.

A personal project focused on stylized 2D rendering and material study. The goal was to interpret a classical plaster female bust in a clean, casual game-art style.
Key focuses of this study:
Isometric Perspective: Maintaining consistent proportions and volume in an isometric view.
Material Rendering: Achieving a soft, matte plaster finish using subtle gradients and ambient occlusion.
Stylization: Simplifying complex anatomical forms into clean, readable shapes suitable for casual games

An illustration inspired by the Warcraft universe.
A simple accident led to chaos: a curious cat knocked a vial of elixir right into a cauldron of potion, inadvertently summoning a massive, demonic stone minotaur. While the goblin alchemist—gripped by terror and confusion—tries to defend himself against the monster, the cat sits calmly above the fireplace, stretching with sheer contentment.

This piece was created as part of a contest focused on designing a single prop under the theme “Master’s Tool.”
The goal was to convey the story of a person who has spent a lifetime perfecting their craft, using only one object as a narrative medium.
I approached this concept through a semi-realistic stylized lens, designing a tool that could belong to an experienced alchemist or herbalist. The combination of organic shapes, wood, living plants, and luminous liquid reflects a deep connection to nature and a refined understanding of materials.
Special attention was given to:
Silhouette and readability
Material definition and contrast
Balance between stylization and believability
Subtle storytelling through form and details
This object is meant to feel like an extension of the master’s hand — shaped not only by function, but by years of practice and personal evolution.

Personal character design project. The goal was to create a fantasy spellcaster whose silhouette and visual identity are entirely derived from the Pleurocybella porrigens (commonly known as Angel Wing) mushroom.
Key design elements:
Silhouette: The iconic fan-shaped, sessile caps of the mushroom replace traditional armor/robes, creating a high-fantasy “Warcraft-inspired” chunky silhouette.
Materiality: I experimented with the contrast between the organic, papery texture of the mushroom caps and the heavy, earthy fabrics of the mage’s robes.
Color Palette: A mix of deep forest greens and browns to ground the character, making the pale, bioluminescent whites of the “wings” stand out as the focal point.
Aura: The glowing orb on the staff signifies the primal, perhaps druidic or necrotic nature of the character’s power.
This character belongs to a hidden forest faction where biology and sorcery are indistinguishable.

This character design was created for the “Fantasy Mounts and Transport” competition by the Warto School.
The goal was to combine traditional fantasy aesthetics with steampunk/magical engineering. This VeloDigger is a high-speed underground exploration mount powered by a combination of pressurized steam and magical emerald crystals.
Key design features:
Movement: Hydraulic piston systems in the legs for high jumps and fast sprints.
Power source: Glowing green crystals act as a catalyst for the steam engine, providing a “magical boost”.
Control system: Traditional leather saddle combined with hand levers to control the flow of steam and its direction.
Weapons: Claw picks for digging tunnels.
Everything from the exhaust pipes to the mechanical tail was designed with an emphasis on silhouette and functional anatomy.
Special thanks to Varto School for the challenge!
