Tania Zountsa is a Greek saxophonist, composer, and improviser based in Amsterdam. Starting with guitar at age 9, she discovered her passion for improvisation and later connected deeply with saxophone. Her musical journey spans classical training in Greece, studies in Brussels and the Netherlands (BMus and MMus), and exploration of Music Therapy. Tania researches ancient Greek music systems, blending contemporary and traditional elements in her compositions. She leads ensemble Singularity Point, released debut album "AWAKE" (2022), has her second album in production, and is working on compositions for her third album inspired by lunar cycles. She collaborates internationally across Europe and Iraq. Her projects include MARUSKES (Norma fund recipient, improvisation-focused duo with notable commissions including Marguerite Humeau exhibitions) Paper Throne and S ☉ U L T ▽ N(solo project).
