I am Megan Bennett, a senior public relations leader and freelance publicist with more than 20 years of experience driving earned media, brand visibility, and thought leadership for consumer, wellness, beauty, food, lifestyle, and mission-driven brands.

I founded Light Years Ahead to deliver national media results with senior-level strategy and hands-on execution. I excel as a fractional PR lead, partnering with internal teams or working independently to own media strategy end-to-end—from messaging and pitch development to media training and spokesperson preparation. My work has earned coverage on Today Show, Good Morning America, Forbes, The New York Times, People, and more. Beyond client work, I train journalists and founders, advise executives on clear, confident communication, and appear as a podcast guest to share insights on interviews, panels, and broadcasts.
