ENG Steve Costa, known artistically as Stefano Amalfi, was born in 1984 in Messina, Italy. He first gained recognition after winning the DIESEL-U-MUSIC Contest in 2004, sharing the stage with 2 Many DJs and Andy Smith (Portishead) during the award ceremony at Rome's prestigious studios. In 2008, he secured another victory at the BACARDI B-LIVE Contest with his track "HORIZON" featuring Odyzë, released under the iconic Sound Division label. This led to performances alongside renowned artists such as Saturnino (bassist for Lorenzo Jovanotti), Tiefschwarz and many more. From 2005 to 2015, Stefano honed his skills as a producer, sound engineer, and selector at Molto Recordings, a legendary label from Modena boasting renowned sub-labels like Stik, Minimalistik, and Sound Division. During this period, he produced and remixed tracks for artists such as Robbie Rivera, D.O.N.S., Matte Botteghi, Ema Stokholma, Giusy Consoli, and many others. Stefano’s time at Molto Recordings also sharpened his craft as a sound selector, resulting in the production of iconic dance compilations like Papeete Beach and Samsara, which became staples in the Italian dance music scene. In 2015, alongside Nana Duah, Stefano co-founded Lowheads, a collaboration that brought them to work with celebrated artists like Louie Vega, Flashmob, Pillowtalk, and Soul Clap. Their productions have been released on legendary labels such as Defected, Classic Music Company, and Get Physical, earning them gigs at prestigious venues like WOMB (Tokyo, Japan), Macarena Club (Barcelona, Spain), and Cocoricò (Riccione, Italy). Today, Stefano continues his journey as a freelance artist with fresh productions, remixes, and live DJ sets. He serves as the resident DJ for the Daiquiri party, one-half of Lowheads, and a member of Midnight Sky [Material Music].
