Hi there! As a filmmaker, my goal is to translate inspiring stories into creative footage that truly connects with people. For many years, I worked as a project manager in the non-profit sector on a wide range of social initiatives. In that role, I met many inspiring individuals whose stories often remained underexposed - such as undocumented migrants in need of shelter or young people struggling with mental health issues. Those encounters inspired me to put my passion for video and storytelling into practice and start making films myself (in my free time). After a while, I decided to leave my job as a project manager to pursue a career as a full-time producer and filmmaker. Three years later, I’ve completed several major productions, which you can see in my portfolio at steviejosephine.com. I’ve developed video content for KRO-NCRV, non-profits such as Milieudefensie and the Netherlands Red Cross, and most recently for the NPO Zapp Awards. As a filmmaker, I’ve been responsible for all aspects of video production: writing and reviewing scripts, developing shot lists, filming independently (FX3), directing on set, and handling editing and colour grading in post-production (Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve). The projects I’ve worked on range from multi-month productions for television to shorter requests for social media. Thanks to my background as a project manager, I’m used to coordinating multiple productions at the same time without losing sight of the details. That’s also why I like to get involved with partners as early as possible in the process, both creatively and editorially.
