My name is Tom Land - a research scientist, writer, and filmmaker. I have recently set up my documentary film company: Landmass Media. More information about me and my skills can be found on my website, _Website not available. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_ After five years in the natural history film industry, initially as a science researcher at the BBC Natural History Unit, and most recently 3 years as a researcher developer with Silverback Films, I am now looking forwards to the next exciting opportunity to explore my love for zoology and filmmaking/podcasting. I am ready to be part of a production that will tell deep, new, insightful stories about our planet and the people that live here. My ambition and passion for wildlife biology and behaviour led me to create, produce and release an award-winning podcast; as well as writing and presenting a natural history radio series for children, for a London based station. After completing my most recent project with Silverback Films, I have been developing films and creating high-level professional pitch decks for several upcoming projects with Ernst & Young, and the First Nations of Vancouver Island. This has allowed me to hone my craft in story development, as well as the core skills required to produce films in the future. Furthermore, I am a confident public speaker, having most recently given an exceptionally well-reviewed seminar in the 2025 conference for the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour on the narrative of scientific storytelling.
