Thibaud François is a French musician and composer from Metz, now based in Lyon. Active since the early 2010s, he has collaborated with several local bands, producing and performing on stage — most notably with the new wave band Brume, which gained recognition across regional venues and festivals. Alongside these collaborations, he explored electro-cinematic worlds inspired by film and video game music, releasing several self-produced thematic albums between 2016 and 2018. Since 2020, his musical focus has shifted towards orchestration and music for picture. He has been developing his own orchestral writing and branching into interactive and visual formats, particularly through animated short films and video games — a field in which he won an interactive composition contest at the end of 2024. In June 2025, his work on two documentary sound creations was honored at the Radio France Instrumental RFI Competition, where he was awarded First Prize, a recognition celebrated at an official ceremony at France Médias Monde. He is currently working on several original scores for independent video games while continuing to compose new instrumental albums. He is also developing personal projects, including The FOE, an alternative folk venture.
