I’m Tom Hodgson — a composer, electronic music producer, and sound designer based in the North West, UK. I create electronic music and sound for performance, multimedia and public-facing work, with a focus on projects that combine sound with storytelling, visual environments and real voices. My practice often involves original music creation, as well as shaping raw material — such as spoken word, interviews or existing audio — into cohesive, expressive sound pieces that support narrative, pacing and atmosphere. Over the past five years I’ve worked across a range of festivals and community-led projects including Light Up Leigh, Warrington Arts Festival and Streets Apart Festival in Wigan, creating sound for projection, installation and site-responsive work. I also have experience developing longer-form, multi-section compositions for live and multimedia performance. Alongside this, I run Alltrax, an ACE and Wigan Council-funded community electronic music platform based in Wigan, focused on participant-led and collaborative work. My skillset spans composition, sound design and audio production (recording, editing, mixing and mastering), and I’m comfortable working across genres depending on the needs of a project.
